Get psychological support in the fight against depression

Depression - an insidious disease that robs you of the joy of life

Depression is an emotional and mental disorder that is characterized by long-lasting low mood, loss of interest in things that previously gave pleasure, as well as other symptoms such as fatigue, difficulty concentrating or insomnia.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is one of the most common mental disorders and affects approximately 350 million people around the world.

Signs of depression

Depressed mood

Your self-esteem and self-confidence have decreased. You face feelings of guilt and low self-esteem. The future looks mostly dark for you.

Anhedonia

Nothing makes you happy or gives you pleasure. Things that previously interested you now seem irrelevant. You do not engage in new activities and avoid taking on challenges.

Energy reduction

Depression is a disease of vitality, so your energy is very low. You get tired easily and give up. Your activity during the day is low.

Weakened concentration

It seems impossible for you to concentrate on the activity you are doing for a long time. You get distracted very easily and as a result, you don't complete many of your actions.

Disturbance of the daily rhythm

You wake up earlier or sleep longer than before, and yet when you get up you feel tired. No amount of sleep seems to be enough to feel rested.

Suicidal thoughts or acts

You start to notice thoughts such as "it makes no sense", "it will never get better", "this suffering will never end". Thoughts about the end of life begin to appear.

How can therapy help you?

Action plan

Together we will consider the best action plan for you. There is no single story of depression and no single solution. Sometimes therapy alone is enough, sometimes pharmacological support will be necessary in the recovery process.

Getting to know yourself

You will look at your emotions, attitudes and relationships. How did your depression start? What helps and what makes it difficult for you to deal with it on a daily basis?

Understanding Depression

You will learn to recognize situations and thoughts that do not help you return to balance.

Support

I will be with you on the journey to understanding your mental state and help you look at the difficulties you encounter.

Psychological therapy for depression What does it look like?

We start the meetings with an initial consultation, during which we will find out what is happening and what type of support you need.

The first consultation sometimes resembles an interview with a doctor, but its course is tailored to the current situation and your needs. It may be more or less structured, and the questions asked are aimed at better understanding your situation. Taking an interview is a way to understand how and why you are experiencing difficulty or suffering.

If possible, I will try to determine the time frame of our cooperation. We will be able to solve some difficulties together within a certain time and session number, sometimes more time or additional sessions may be needed.

Your opinion and needs will always be the most important and taken into account.

During the session, it is possible to use diagnostic tools, such as psychological tests, to determine the scale of difficulties experienced and the severity of symptoms of depression or anxiety. This is to see where you are in life and understand the scale of difficulties you are experiencing.

The diagnosis is intended to help you understand the difficulties you are experiencing and provide direction for further work.

Frequently asked questions

Sessions usually last about 50 minutes, during which we discuss your situation, the problems you have encountered, and your well-being. We establish an action plan for the next week.

To arrange an online consultation with a psychologist, go to the ONLINE RESERVATION tab and select an available consultation date. After selecting a date, you will be redirected to payment via PayPal. Payment is a necessary condition for confirmation and provision of the service.

The number of sessions is an individual matter and depends on how you feel during the therapy. We will try to understand what problems you are facing and to what extent depression affects your daily functioning. We will develop a plan for working and dealing with emotions. At the first meeting, we will try to determine together how many sessions will be best for you to start with.

Consultations take place in two ways: online and in the office. For online consultations, the location does not matter, what is important is good access to the Internet and a place where you can talk freely without fear of being disturbed by others.

Inpatient consultations take place in Wokingham, Berkshire, in my private clinic.

In both cases, the consultation time is approximately 50 minutes.

The link to cancel the consultation is included in the e-mail confirming the reservation of the consultation date. Click on the link, confirm the cancellation of the meeting and select a new consultation date. The payment will be refunded within 48 hours, unless the consultation is canceled less than 24 hours before the meeting. In such a situation, the amount paid will not be refunded.
